‘The best that I can be’
Remembrance Service
The Remembrance service at St. John’s church last Sunday was a very moving occasion. Our children read beautifully once again and were a real credit to the school and to those who lost their lives in battle.
Children in Need
Thank you for sending your children in their spotty clothes, pyjamas and Pudsey outfits and for your £1 donations. In order to raise even more for Children in need, Mrs Baldwin has cooked lots of Pudsey cookies which will be on sale in the foyer after school. Please come and buy some!
Holiday Dates
I have heard that some parents were not aware that this year, Havering’s holiday dates differ from those in other local boroughs. Please check term dates carefully, especially if you have children who are at school in Essex or Redbridge. The 2019 Easter holidays in Essex and Havering only overlap for 1 week and there is also a difference in the Christmas holidays.
Traffic
At the HABCOS meeting this week, there was an open discussion about traffic in the village. Jenny Gwinn, the Chairperson, has asked that if you have any concerns about poor driving, dangerous parking or any other traffic concerns, please contact the local council. The council are aware of the traffic situation in the village, but we need to keep reminding them until something is done to make the roads safer for our children.
