‘The best that I can be’

Children in Need

It was lovely to see the children dressed in their spotty clothes today. They have had lots of fun playing games and have enjoyed eating the cakes that were donated. Miss Smith’s class treated us to a wonderful assembly yesterday, which really brought home the message about sharing what we have with those less fortunate. Thank you for all your donations.

So far, we have raised over £300.

Anti-Bullying Week

As your children may have told you that we have been talking about how to stop bullying this week.

We have also been teaching the children the difference between being ‘mean’ and bullying.

This week is national Anti-Bullying week which has the theme ‘Power for Good’. As well as discussing the issues during collective worship, the children have been taking part in activities in class. Please look on the Anti-Bullying Alliance website for top tips for children and young people and for parents: www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk

Parent Governor Elections

Congratulations to Marcia Hagon, who was voted in as our new parent governor. Thank you to Rebecca Snell, Joann Osaji-Okai and Anthony Moran for their applications.

Term Time Holidays

I have received several requests for term time holidays. Please note that holidays during term time will not be authorised and the local authority will issue fines to parents who take their children out of school without authorisation. Each parent will be fined for each child they take out of school. Taking time out of school can have a detrimental effect on children’s learning, as well as sending them a message that it is acceptable to opt out of school.

Friends of Dame Tipping Christmas Fayre

The Christmas Fayre will take place on Friday 9th December from 3-6pm at St. John’s church hall. We require donations for the chocolate tombola, teddy bear tombola, wine tombola and any unwanted, unused gifts. Any donations of gift vouchers etc… for the raffle are also needed, so if you, or someone you know has a business or a contact who could provide some good prizes, we would be very grateful.
