‘The best that I can be’
Welcome back and Happy New Year ! I hope that you and your families had a wonderful time together this Christmas. I would like to thank you again for my lovely gifts, which I opened on Christmas day. It is great to see so many of the children looking extremely smart in their uniforms. Almost all the children have their ties on now, so I hope that the last few will follow this example and keep up their smart appearance all year.
Clubs
Club letters have been given out today. All clubs will commence on 16th January, with the exception of choir. Choir will have their final rehearsal for the 02 next Monday (9th) and then their concert on the 16th. Any other children wishing to join choir may do so the following week (23rd January). Please indicate on your child’s form if they wish to join, or continue with choir (years 3-6 only).
Parent Meetings
Thank you to those parents who were able to attend the meetings yesterday. For those of you who were unable to come, there are information sheets being given out for you today. Year 4 and 5 children also have letters regarding next year’s residential visit. Please return the slips as soon as possible so that I can confirm the booking.
Census Day Lunch
Thursday 19th January is census day. Please ensure that your child is in school that day and that they are having school lunch if at all possible. Our funding is seriously affected by the numbers present, so it is really important that as many children as possible have a school lunch. The menu for the day includes the children’s favourites : Roast chicken dinner or veggie sausage roll with the roast trimmings. Dessert will be iced sponge. Thank you for your support.
Havering Catering Services Dinner Tickets
We do not yet have the facilities for you to pay for school lunches electronically. Please ensure that your child has enough dinner tickets to purchase their meals for the next 9 school days and to cover any tickets owing. The electronic system ‘Squid Pay’ will be up and running by the end of the month at the latest, We will issue you with instructions on how to sign up and inform you as soon as it is ready to use. School meals will still be free for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
Missing Uniform
Please could you check at home and return any uniform you may have which doesn’t belong to your child. We have had several items of named uniform and P.E kits go missing recently. Please could you also ensure that your child’s uniform is all labelled.
