Dear Parents/ Carers,

We’ve had another busy and productive week this week, with the added excitement of our school football team’s first match of the season (more on that later).

Book Fair

Your children will be bringing home leaflets about the book fair this afternoon. You do not have to pre-order books, as they will be on sale during book week, but you may pre-order and pre-pay if there is anything your child would particularly like. Please hand forms, with payment, to Mrs Waters or Mrs James. All books bought will benefit the school, as we will be able to use the commission to buy much needed new books for our school library.

Funeral in the Village

We had some very sad news that a local farmer died suddenly this week. His funeral will take place at St John the Evangelist on Monday afternoon (2nd February). Please note that this will cause disruption to the local roads at home time, as over 300 people are expected to attend. If possible, please car- share to ease pressure on the roads and on parking. I am sure that the family will thank you for your patience and understanding.

School Nurse

If you wish to discuss any health concerns relating to your child, please come in and see the nursing team at 8.30am on Monday 9th February.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers

You may have noticed the box in the corridor for Sainsbury’s vouchers. Please remember to put your vouchers in the box, so that we can purchase sports equipment for all the children to use.

Football Match Report

The football team and I went away to St Edward’s Primary to play a football match but we did lose

9-1. At the end there was a ‘man of the match’ which was Toby. At half time we were 2-1 down. Matthew scored a goal. The second half we conceded 7 goals. We do have an upcoming match against Crownfields. by Dylan Patel

Informing us of Absence

Please remember, if your child is off ill, to call the school office on the first morning of absence. We have a duty to follow up absences, but it is far better if you call us, so that we do not need to make calls. We have also had a few instances where parents’ numbers are unavailable. It is vital that we have the correct number for parents and that we can contact you in an emergency. Thank you for your co-operation.

Winter Uniform

We pride ourselves at Dame Tipping on our smart uniform. Please ensure that your child comes to school wearing a neat, winter uniform, with shirt and tie. Ties are available from the office for £3.
