‘The best that I can be’
We have had another very exciting and productive week this week. Reception even had a visit from a pony! Year 3 and 4 also had a ‘hands on’ learning experience, making sandwiches with Warburtons. At Dame Tipping, we really do make the most of our local community to enhance our learning. Forest school is still going strong and is more popular than ever with the children.
Football Fun
We had 2 friendly matches against Immanuel School this week: We didn’t win the match with the year 4,5, and 6 team, but the year 1,2 and 3 team won 10-2. Well done!
Friends of Dame Tipping
Don’t forget to come along to the extraordinary meeting of the Friends (PTA) just after 9am on Monday 1st February. We are hoping to elect a new Chair and Vice Chair and are very keen to get new people on board to build on the excellent work of Danielle and Michelle. The Friends are a vital part of our work at Dame Tipping, especially as we try to raise funds for our new play equipment. If you are not able to stand for one of the roles, please do come along, as we would like as many people’s input as possible.
‘Me and My World’ Books
Reception class will be bringing their ‘Me and My World’ books home today. These are books for you and your child to record any activities you do at the weekend. They will be using the book to share their experiences with the class
Signing out book
Due to new regulations, parents will now need to sign their children out with the class teacher if they pick them up during the school day. Please ensure that you sign your child out in their class signing out book.
Passwords
Please could all Reception and KS1 parents ensure that they return their passwords, which should be given to anyone new picking up your child, for added security.
Late pick-ups
Sadly, some parents have been taking advantage of the school by continually picking up their children late after school, or by leaving siblings at school when one of their children is at a club. Teachers, teaching assistants and office staff are extremely busy and should not be used as a free childcare service. Please ensure that you organise your childcare so that all of your children are collected on time.
New Policies
The new Sex and Relationships Education and Homework policies will be on the website from next week. Please take the time to have a look and familiarise yourselves with policies, which are based on parent feedback and Church of England policy and have been approved by the Governing Body of the school.
