‘The best that I can be’
We have had a very eventful week this week. There have been sports matches, fundraisers, special assemblies and the KS2 children have had a chance to share their brilliant stories with one another.
Year 5 and 6 have also taken part in ‘The Big Quiz’- a culmination of all their topic work about the United Kingdom.
Year 5 Hockey Match 10/02/16
Most of the year fives went to the Hockey match at Coopers School. We lost two and drew five. Aimee scored a goal and we all did very well. It was a bit cold but everyone still tried their best. All the schools that we played were very good. The people that went were: Aimee, Finlay, Ruby, Freddie, Maddie, George TB, Jessica, Joe and Tami.
They all tried their very best, some of them said it was quite hard but kept trying.

Football Matches
Our football team played 2 matches this week: one against Crownfield and one against St.Edward’s. We did not win on this occasion, but played very well and persevered in both matches. Dylan and Elijah made their League debut.
School Council Fundraising
The school council have raised a very impressive £307.90 through their cake sale, movie night and non-uniform day. They will be meeting after half term to decide how they can spend the money to improve playtimes for all the children. Well done to all those involved and parents who have supported these events.
Parent consultations slips

Friends of Dame Tipping
“Thank you to everyone that attended our meeting in the Orange Tree on Monday evening this week. It was a really productive meeting enjoyed with a large glass of red wine, which is when I have all of my best ideas!
We have lots of activities planned for the children and parents right up until the end of the summer term so please watch this space for event information and future meetings.
With the help of Tracey Turrell we are planning a shopping trip to Bicester Designer Outlet in Oxford on Tuesday 3rd May.
The cost of the return coach journey including a glass of prosecco or a non alcoholic alternative and a delicious pastry will be £25 per person. The coach will leave from the school at 9am and traffic pending we hope to arrive back between 6-7pm so alternative collection arrangements will need to be made on this day for your children.
If you haven’t visited Bicester before it is a fantastic opportunity to do so and hopefully grab a designer bargain or two.
This event is open to all parents, friends and family so please spread the word.
We need to secure the coach as soon as possible so payment will be required by the 14 March. A separate letter will be sent home after the half-time break which will include all information and how to make payment. A huge thank you to Tracey for her help and time with organising this event.
Finally I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our new Friends of Dame Tipping class reps:
Reception: Vicki Makepeace
Year 1/2: Michelle Webb & Nichole Goodison Year 3/4: Lucy Wakeling & Melanie Marshall Year 5/6: Claire Hick & Lisa Alexander.
Please ask the class reps for any information regarding the Friends of Dame Tipping and we will ensure that all meeting and event information is circulated as much as possible.
Happy half term to you all.
Vicki Makepeace”
