‘The best that I can be’

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Dance Day

087061079

The whole school have had a great time today learning to dance with Katie, a professional dance teacher. I was so impressed with how quickly they learnt their routines and how confident they were when performing.

Football Match

Our football team played St. Patrick’s yesterday afternoon. Whilst they did not win this time, they are really improving as a team.

Fundraising

The children have worked hard to prepare and run their lent games this week. Lent games will continue next week, so please send your spare change in with your children. All money from the Lent games goes to our sponsored child in The Gambia.

Teaching and Learning Review

This week, we had a review of our teaching and learning across the school. You will be pleased to hear that your children really did you proud with their excellent behaviour and hard work.

Friends of Dame Tipping

The Friends have a new email address: friendsofdametipping@gmail.com . Please email this address if you have queries about any Friends events, if you need information about up and coming meetings, or any other questions about the Friends of Dame Tipping.

Clubs Survey

Mrs. Hood has carried out a survey this week, asking children and parents which clubs they would like to have at Dame Tipping. She will collate all this information and use it to design the programme for next term. Thank you for your input on this.

Mr. Botha’s Visit

The children in class 3 really enjoyed Mr. Botha’s visit. He talked to them about how to be a writer and read some of his own books. It was nice to see him and we wish him every success in his future career as a children’s author.

Holiday Activities

Havering are running a wide variety of activities over the Easter Holidays. Visit www.havering.gov.uk/holidayactivities for more information.

Stubbers Payment

Thank you to all the year 5 and 6 parents who have paid their balance for Stubbers. Don’t forget that you have until the end of April to pay.

Be Vigilant

Several local schools have had emails today to warn them about someone trying to snatch a boy into a white van outside a local secondary school. Please be vigilant and contact the relevant authorities if you see anything suspicious.

Commendations

Jack Wallis, Dhiya Chagger, Scarlett Kedadi, Scarlett Clarke, Aimee Bradley, Zachary Teshola, Aaron Hick, Bonny-Blu Kedadi.

Well done everyone!

Pen Licences

Congratulations to Elijah Oyetunde who was awarded his pen licence for consistently neat, cursive writing.

Attendance

Well done to classes 4, who have 100% attendance again!

Class 1 were just behind with 99.33% and class 2 met the target at 97.24. Let’s hope class 3 meet their target next week, too.

Overall, our attendance as a school is improving slowly. Please do your bit by ensuring that you do not take holidays during term time.
