‘The best that I can be’
Lent Games
Each year during Lent, we raise money for the 2 girls in The Gambia whom we are sponsoring through school. The games will be happening every Friday during Lent and the children will be told what they are beforehand. The games cost 50p – £1. Please send your child in with their money in a named purse if you wish them to take part next Friday. We are aiming to raise £350, so it would be great if as many children as possible could take part. Thank you for your support.
PE Kit
Please ensure that your children have suitable PE kit for outdoors and for indoors (in the event of poor weather). Outdoor PE kit is a dark, plain tracksuit (or tracksuit trousers with a school sweatshirt) and trainers and indoor PE kit is black shorts, a school PE t-shirt and black plimsoles (the shorts and t-shirt can be worn outside in the summer). If you are ordering PE kit from Red Oak Roller, it would also be a good idea to order a school cap in preparation for the summer and a red/gold tie if your child does not have one.
Year 2 SATs Meeting
Ms. Holmes would like to invite Year 2 parents to a meeting to inform you about the Year 2 end of Key Stage assessments. You will be given the opportunity to look at some sample materials and ask questions. Ms. Holmes will explain what the children need to do in order to meet the end of KS1 expectations and how you can support your children in this.
The meeting will take place on Thursday 22nd March at 8.45 in the hall. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Contacts Lists
It is vital that we have your correct contact details and those of at least 2 other people who we can contact in case of emergency. Please ensure that you let us know when you change your number and that we always have a number that we can contact you on. We also need to have your correct address on file, so if you move, please update your records with us. As previously explained, if we do not hear from you when your child is absent, we will contact all the people on your list and, if necessary, visit your home to check that your child is safe and well. You should phone to let us know where your child is as soon as possible on the morning that they are going to be away.
