‘The best that I can be’

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Football Success!

Well done to our football team for winning 5-3 against St. Patrick’s on Wednesday afternoon. They have worked really hard to get to this point and we are very proud of them. Taylor and Spencer were Men of the Match.

Dame Tipping CSI

The children in Class 2 had a fantastic day playing the part of Crime Scene Investigators yesterday. Mr. Harris (an ex-police officer whose children used to attend Dame Tipping) set up the Crime Scene and the children had to use their forensic skill to solve the crime…

Britain at War by Kerys Walton

Yesterday we went to the Imperial War Museum. We saw lots of sculptures from World Wars 1 and 2 and also found out secrets about the German air force (Luftwaffe).

Fundraising

Lent games concluded this week. The children have really impressed me with how well they organised and ran their games. We will let you know how much has been raised once all the money has been counted.

Friends of Dame Tipping

The Friends have a new email address: friendsofdametipping@gmail.com . Please email this address if you have queries about any Friends events, if you need information about up and coming meetings, or any other questions about the Friends of Dame Tipping.

Next Term’s Clubs

The clubs timetable has been completed and will be on the website for you to view very soon. Mrs. Hood has tried to accommodate requests from children, although we couldn’t quite manage to organise the facilities for Scuba diving! Clubs will begin on the second week back after the holidays.

Holiday Activities

Havering are running a wide variety of activities over the Easter Holidays. Visit www.havering.gov.uk/holidayactivities for more information.

Be Vigilant

Please be vigilant and contact the relevant authorities if you see anything suspicious around the school, or whilst your children are playing during the holidays. As you will be aware, there have been incidences of adults attempting to snatch children in Havering recently.

Cyber Safety

We have been made aware that quite a few children have been accessing inappropriate Youtube clips and playing 15 and 18 rated games. Please think about your child’s emotional and mental welfare before allowing them to do this. Games and films have age restrictions for a reason.

Safeguarding

From time to time, local businesses (such as Karate and Drama clubs) ask us to take leaflets for them and distribute them. Please be aware that we are not endorsing these businesses and it is parents’ responsibility to check that those providing services have the appropriate checks and are safe to work with children. Of course, all adults who work and volunteer within the school have the appropriate enhanced checks. We would appreciate it if parents did not send children into school with adverts/business cards to hand out to their friends. Thank you for your co-operation.
