‘The best that I can be’

Lenten Reflection:

Psalm 91 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress my God, in whom I trust.’

Mini Marathon

Well done to all the children for their amazing efforts in the Mini Marathon yesterday. It was wonderful to see everyone trying so hard and encouraging their classmates as well. A special thank you to Class 3 and 4 for marshaling the course, counting laps, keeping time, recording results, handing out medals and cheering on every single runner. I am very proud of all of you for your hard work.

The winners from each year group were as follows: Reception: Blake and Willow Year 1: Rhys and Adaora Year 2: Jack Wallis and Chloe Year 3: Kai D and Aaliyah Year 4: Aaron and Bonny Year 5: Dylan and Imogen Year 6: Finlay and Jess

Thank you to everyone who has already brought in their sponsorship money. It’s lovely to see how generous and supportive the children’s friends and family are and we have already raised a lot for Campus Children’s Holidays. Remember that the deadline for sponsorship money and forms to be returned is Friday 28th April. For more photos from the day, check out the school story on Class Dojo.

Mr Matthews

We are very sad to be saying goodbye to our Deputy Head teacher, Mr. Matthews today. Whilst he has only been with us a short time, he has had a really positive impact on the school, not only through his teaching, but also through spreading his love of music throughout the school. We wish him every success in his new role as a national adviser for literacy, where he will be able to have an impact on children’s learning throughout the country.

Red Nose Day

Thank you for your generous donations last Friday. We raised £204.75 for comic relief.

Lent Games

Thank you for your support with this year’s Lent Games. The children all worked very hard to organise and run the games. A special thank you to Amber Gordon, who co-ordinated the games so well.

We raised a total of £217.59.

Year 6 Holiday Homework

Please could all Year 6 pupils complete as many CGP tests as they can over the Easter holiday. Parents should use the mark schemes in the book to mark the tests with their children. If possible, please make a list of any areas you wish your child to receive extra help with when they return to school. Year 6 will have a mock test week when they come back after Easter.

SQUID Payments

Please take time over the Easter holidays to sign up to your SQUID payment account if you have not done so already. You should top up with a sufficient amount of money to cover your child’s dinners. If you have surplus dinner tickets, they should all be brought into school in a named envelope so that your account will be credited.
