‘The best that I can be’
Well done, Year 6!
The Year 6 pupils impressed me so much this week with their determination in their SATs tests. They did not allow the pressure to get to them and they all tried so hard to put into practice all the knowledge and skills they have learnt. Thank you so much to Mrs. McCormack and Mrs Squirrell for all of the extra work they have put in, including coming in to teach during their Easter holidays.
After half term, Year 6 and Year 5 (who have been very accommodating during the tests) will be rewarded with a fun-filled activity week which will include go-karting and water sports.
LIFE Passports
It has been lovely to hear from the children how many of the LIFE Passport activities they have already completed. We have completed quite a few in school too, so please encourage your children to bring their passports in to be signed. Please have a look at your child’s Passport before half term and see if you can plan to do any of the activities. Have fun!
Polling Day
The school will be used as a polling station on Thursday 23rd May. The late notice is due to the fact that the European elections are now taking place because of the delay to Brexit. I am hopeful that an alternative polling station will be found in the village so that future elections will not necessitate the school closing. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Get Your Dancing Shoes On!
The Friends of Dame Tipping will be holding an end of term / end of SATs kids disco next Friday 24th May at St John’s Church hall 6PM – 7:30PM . £5 per child. Price includes drinks, snacks, music, games and prizes. Tickets can be bought online at www.pta-events.co.uk/friendsofdametipping
Sun Hats
Please send your child in with a NAMED school hat, as the sun has been making an appearance recently. I have ordered a few hats from Red Oak Roller for children who do not have them. They can be purchased from the office for £5.50. I will let you know when they arrive.
An Evening of Song with Dame Tipping Gospel Choir (and friends!) CHANGE OF DATE
We have decided to postpone the choir evening planned for next Wednesday. It will now take place on WEDNESDAY 3RD JULY at 6.30PM. This is in order to give the children’s choir more time to learn their songs and for us to sell more tickets. Please put the date in your diaries and support this event by coming along with your friends and families. You can use the booking form given out to the children last week and you will receive printed tickets on payment (£5 adults, £3 children).
Clubs Payments
All children who have applied for clubs have been allocated places.
Please could you ensure that you pay for clubs before they attend. Mrs Wakeman has put 2 offers on Squid- 1 for sports clubs and one for all other clubs. Thank you for your co-operation.
