‘The best that I can be’

James 5: 11- Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

You Shall go to the Ball !

As the finale to their topic called Party Planners, year 1 and 2 invited the reception class to a party with a healthy menu.  They enjoyed a selection of sliced vegetables and pitta bread with a dip and delicious fresh fruit kebabs.  We also made our own cocktails, the favourite being Prince’s Pineapple Punch!  Thanks to Mrs Marshall who helped the children to prepare their own kebabs and Mrs Webb who gave up her time to help at the party.  We had traditional party games outside and ended with a Firework dance which year 1 and 2 performed.

Dragons’ Den

The children in years 5 and 6 made some very impressive pitches to the dragons (myself, Emma Anderton and Harry Knightbridge). They had designed apps in groups and were looking for investment. Well done to the winning team, who designed an app which would translate your voice so that you could speak to international friends. They had also thought very hard about online safety and conduct. Thank you so much to Emma and Harry for giving up their time to take part.

Parent Voice

Thank you to the parents who attended the meeting on Tuesday. It was very useful to hear the views of a cross-section of parents and to be able to discuss openly with parents some of the issues that have arisen around behaviour. As a result, we are currently reviewing our policies and practices. Parents and children will be informed of any changes next half term.

Friends of Dame Tipping School Fair

The Friends of Dame Tipping would like to ask for donations of old crockery (no glass!), any unwanted gifts for our luxury tombola and donations of bottles of wine and empty wine bottles (screw top only) please.

Also they have another meeting at the Orange Tree pub on Wednesday 8th June from 7.30pm to discuss all final plans and we need as much help and support as possible to make this event a success.

After School Clubs

Just a reminder that after school clubs ARE on during the week after half term (from Tuesday). Please ensure that you pay for clubs with a charge.

First Week Back

Please remember that Monday 6th June is an INSET day and the children return to school on Tuesday 7th June. This is a PE day, so children will need FULL PE KIT.

On Wednesday 9th June, we will be celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday with games and a party.

This day will be a non-uniform day, where children can wear red, white and blue.

New Playground

As you know, the Friends of Dame Tipping and the children have worked very hard to match fund the necessary amount for an adventure playground to be built at the back of the school. The children are very excited about the project and can’t wait to play on all the new equipment. Work starts on the INSET day next Friday and will continue into the first week after half term. The car park will be inaccessible whilst the work goes on, so please make alternative arrangements for the first week back. Staff will be on duty at the front of the school before and after school, so you will be able to drop your children there. Thank you for your co-operation.
