‘The best that I can be’

We have had another fun-filled week this week, with many creative learning opportunities taking place. I have seen some lovely art work, heard some beautiful singing and enjoyed some fun problem solving activities in Maths.

Clubs next week

Please note: there will be no clubs next Wednesday, due to the inflatable afternoon. All other clubs will run as usual.

Summer Sports

Sadly, Foundation Sports have had to cancel their summer camp, due to lack of interest. If you had booked, please contact coach Del for a refund.

Activity Week

For the class 5 and 6 activity week, there was a mistake on the letter regarding Go-Karting. The children may wear t-shirts (they do not need long sleeves). In addition, the children will need to be picked up from school at 5.15pm on Thursday (we are actually leaving Stubbers at 4.45pm).

Uniform

Please ensure that your child has the correct school uniform and that EVERY ITEM IS LABELLED.

It is very time-consuming for staff when they have to search through unnamed uniform to match it up to its owner. Several parents have come into school complaining to teachers about missing uniform, but have not taken the time to name it. Please could you also check at home that you do not have any uniform belonging to anyone else.

PE kits

Full PE kits need to be in school at all times. They should only be taken home for washing during the holidays, unless they are particularly dirty, in which case they should be washed and returned as quickly as possible.

Commendations

Congratulations to these children who received commendations this week: George Dignum, for his excellent behaviour in class and for being respectful to adults; Poppy Whitcombe and Katie Percival, for working hard to learn their lines for the play and Michelle Nehmara, for an excellent effort when writing this week. Well done, everyone!

Work of the Week

Reception: Ava Shorter- an amazing story using the correct punctuation and speech marks.

Class 1/2: Naa Dedei Osaji-Okai and Oscar Knight- beautifully executed art work.

Class 5/6: Jessica White- a funny, exaggerated story based on Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’.

Achievements

Well done to Willow Snell for achieving her stage 3 swimming award.
