‘The best that I can be’

Dear parents/ carers,

We have survived the hot weather and had another great week at school. Today, we welcomed the first half of our new Reception class to Dame Tipping.

Summer Fayre Success

A huge thank you to everyone who organised the Summer Fayre, everyone who volunteered and everyone  who came along to support. It was an absolutely fantastic afternoon. The sun shone and I got soaked by lots of the children and adults! The fayre was opened by local Grammy award winning

Songwriter Imogen Heap, who made a lovely speech. The Fayre raised lots of money, which will go towards improving the outdoor areas of our school. The final profit figure will be announced this week.

Is this your ticket?

The winning raffle ticket numbers were 216-220. Please bring your tickets in to claim your prize. If the prize is not claimed by next Thursday, we will draw the raffle again on Friday.

Clubs

The last day for clubs will be Thursday 9th July. Please ensure that you make arrangements to pick up your children straight after school after this date.

Lost Property

Please could you check the basket and take home anything belonging to your child. Anything left behind at the end of term will be taken to the clothes bank.

Family Cricket at Bedfords Park

Don’t forget to join us for this informal event after school this afternoon. We should be ready to get started by 3.30pm. If you have any cricket equipment, please bring it along so that we can get a few matches going.

Summer Sports

Foundation sports will be running two weekly multi-sports summer camps during the summer holidays. For more information and to book, please call Del on 07806 811589.

Maths Quiz at Hallmead

This morning, Scarlett Kedadi, Dylan Patel, Kerys Walton and Joshua Ajayi took part in a maths quiz at Hallmead School in Upminster. There were representatives from schools all over Havering. Whilst our team did not come in the top 3, they did work very well together to answer the challenging questions and were a credit to our school in  terms of behaviour.

Wellgate Farm

Wellgate farm will be visiting us next Monday with a range of animals for the children to look at, touch and feed. Please let us know before then if there are any animals your child is allergic to.

Attendance

Great news this week: every class reached the Local Authority target of 96%. Class 2 had the best attendance with 98.6%. Well done!

Please remember that from September, the threshold for ‘persistent absentee’ status will go from 85% to 90%, which will mean that the local authority will become involved at an earlier stage. Please consider this when booking your holidays for next year.

New Staff for September

We are very pleased to be welcoming Mrs. Fletcher and Ms Worsdell to our team in September. They will both be working with years 5 and 6. I will also be teaching in years 5 and 6 for part of the week.

Mr. Evans will be teaching years 3 and 4, Mrs. McCormack will stay with years 1 and 2 and Miss North will be teaching Reception.
