‘The best that I can be’
LIFE Celebration evening
Children from Years 5 and 6, some ex-pupils, staff and parents had a wonderful evening of celebration at Frances Bardsley last Friday. We were treated to some great singing, dancing and reading from our own children and children from the other schools in the trust.
The awards received were as follows:
Faye Newman, Aaron Hick and Lou Lou French received their LIFE ambassador badges
Imogen Snell won the spirituality award, Timothy Olusegun won an award for resilience, Lou Lou French for Compassion and Amber Gordon for Internationalism.
We also received our very own Zoe bear (Greek for Life), who will be travelling around over the coming months, experiencing some exciting new places.
Remembrance Service
Thank you to those of you who have responded regarding the Remembrance service at St. John’s church on Sunday 11th November from 10am. You will be informed if your child has a reading. I look forward to seeing you there.
Remembrance Art project
Our Remembrance project to mark the 100-year anniversary since the end of World War 1 is now installed at the front of school. Thank you to all of those who have sent in plastic bottles. If you haven’t and would like to participate in the project, please send in by Monday to make this possible.
Children in Need
Next Friday, 16th October we will be fundraising for Children in Need. Children can come into school dressed in spotty clothes or pyjamas for a £1 donation. Throughout the day there will be a games that the children can participate in.

Work of the Week
Reception/Year 1- Eman Jan for her independent work.
Class 2- Harry Goodman for his effort in handwriting and learning to write in a cursive style.
Class 3/4- Fae for her creativity in writing and using adverbial phrases.
Class 5/6- Jack Percival for his wonderfully creative and emotive WW1 poems.
Commendations
Reception/Year 1- Jack Bartrum for his wonderful learning behaviour.
Class 2- Blake Turner for his fantastic attitude at Forest School and being a super Hedgehog Helper!
Class 3/4- Jayden Aberdeen for his perserverance in handwriting.
Class 5/6- Evie Baldwin for her perseverance in maths and Kai Boorman for being a great friendship role model.
Achievements
Danielle Moran and Emily Murch achieved their 10 length swimming award this week.
Rhiannon Geca achieved her Irish Dancing level 2 soft shoe medal and her level 1 hard shoe trophy.
Ben Baldwin shared his great grandfather’s achievement by bringing in his WW1 medals.
Well done to you all!
Friends of Dame Tipping.
On Friday 23rd November we will be working with ‘Kids on the Catwalk’ and holding a fundraising fashion show at St John’s church hall, involving children from our school. If your child would like to participate please return the form sent out last week asap or speak to Kay. Children who want to participate will need to be at the church hall from 4:50pm where the staff from Kids on the Catwalk will run a small workshop. Adults and children are then invited to watch the fashion show at 6:30pm for £3pp.
We are holding our AGM meeting on Thursday 29th November , starting at 7:30PM at the Orange Tree Pub. All parents are welcome to attend.
For Christmas we have a pantomime company that will be attending school to perform to all the children. They will be performing Beauty and the Beast in the afternoon of Thursday 6th December. The Friends have covered the cost of this so it will be free to all the children.
On Friday 7th December, we will be working with the teachers to provide the children with an in school Christmas fair. More details to follow soon.
